MeitY has approved setting up of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Internet of Things (IoT) at Bangalore over a period of 5 years, to be executed jointly by ERNET India and NASSCOM in PPP mode. The vision of the CoE is to enable India as the Innovation hub for the emerging technologies like Internet of Things domain through Innovation, Standardization, Realization of prototype/products before deployment of the IoT devices in the public domain/ infrastructure and support Govt. initiatives on IoT solutions for specific India needs in areas like water, energy, agriculture, health, security and privacy of data.
